Terms of service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Judge's Eye (the "Service"), a web application provided by Zuben Ltd, trading as Houghton Photo ("we", "us"), a company registered in Ireland (company number 517511, VAT number IE9842954N), of 9 Elmbrook Lawn, Lucan, Dublin, K78 WP57, Ireland. You can email us at joe.houghton@gmail.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Judge's Eye gives AI critiques of your photographs, with editing advice, follow-up questions and voice playback. Critiques are produced by Google's Gemini models from your image and a fixed instruction; they're informational, not a guarantee of competition success.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google. Keep access to your email secure, and tell us at joe.houghton@gmail.com if you suspect misuse. You must be 16 or over.
3. Plans and payments
- Free - five trial critiques, no card needed.
- Monthly - £9.99 a month. Annual - £79.99 a year. Both renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown on the pricing page at renewal, until you cancel.
- Lifetime - £149 once, for as long as Judge's Eye is offered.
Paid plans include up to 200 critiques a month for normal personal use; automated or bulk submission isn't allowed. Plans are sold by Zuben Ltd, trading as Houghton Photo. Stripe takes the payment on its own checkout page and emails your receipt. Prices include VAT where it applies, worked out from the billing address given at checkout.
Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change affects your next renewal.
4. Cancelling and refunds
When you pay, you tick a box that says:
I agree to the Judge's Eye terms and ask for Judge's Eye to start straight away, so if I cancel within 14 days I pay for what I've used.
- Cancelling a subscription. Cancel at any time under Manage subscription on your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for; it won't renew. We don't refund part-periods.
- Your 14-day right to cancel. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment and haven't used a paid critique, email us for a full refund. If you have, we'll refund the unused part of the period in proportion (for Lifetime, in proportion to one year).
- Our mistakes. If a critique fails because of a fault on our side, it won't count against your allowance.
Email joe.houghton@gmail.com for any refund. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to your photographs. You give us a limited licence to store them for your critique history and to send them to Google's Gemini API to produce critiques. Accounts inactive for more than 25 months are erased automatically (see the privacy policy). We don't use your photographs to train AI models.
6. Acceptable use
Don't upload images you don't have the right to use, or unlawful content; don't try to extract the AI prompts or overload the Service; don't share or resell your account. We may suspend an account that breaches these rules.
7. AI output
Critiques are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or disagree with a human judge. Treat them as one perspective.
8. Availability, liability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but can't promise uninterrupted access. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit. We'll email you at least 14 days before a substantive change to these terms.
9. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing joe.houghton@gmail.com; cancel any subscription first under Manage subscription. Closing an account cancels a live subscription. We may close an account that seriously breaches these terms, normally after notice by email.
10. Governing law and contact
Irish law governs these terms. If you're a consumer in another EU country you may also bring proceedings there. Questions: Zuben Ltd (Houghton Photo), joe.houghton@gmail.com.
